Brunswick Bowling

This international giant literally created the game when they standardized the rules and founded the first professional bowling organization in 1895. Since then, Brunswick has been the world’s leader in the the research, design and manufacturing of bowling balls, lanes and equipment. We teamed up with Brunswick’s advertising agency, Auxiliary, to design and develop the new Brunswick Bowling website. The site has a massive amount of content, including their full product catalog of bowling balls, shoes, bags, accessories, apparel and more. We organized this data and developed a content management system to make it easy for Brunswick to maintain everything from small ads on the homepage to the hook potential of the Diamondback ball. We also developed a registration-based Pro Shop Resources section that Brunswick uses to share private information with pro shop owners. The site has been a huge success both in the presence it gives Brunswick online and the speed and ease in which they can maintain it.

Homepage

To give Brunswick’s marketing team flexibility, Mighty developed a grid of main and secondary callouts that rotate and randomly show highlighted products or news. Brunswick manages this all through the ExpressionEngine content management system we developed.

The homepage callout ads help us direct traffic to specific areas of the site. Using analytics, we can listen to our customers to determine which ads are working well. We have been really happy with this feature.

Product Grid

We developed a custom category and filter user interface to make it easy for customers to find the perfect bowling ball. Novice bowlers can use categories while seasoned bowlers can filter by breakpoint shape, hook potential and more.

Product Detail

Mighty architected this content management system to let Brunswick easily manage all ball details and promotional materials. The data charts are dynamically generated and are entered as just numbers in the admin. Related products, documents and pro tips can be assigned to each product to help cross-sell throughout the site.

Updating the "graphical" data for balls is easy. All I have to do is enter the numbers in the CMS and it automatically creates the easy-to-read charts.

Pro Shop Resources

Brunswick needed a secure area to share information with their pro shop owners – high resolution images, marketing displays, drilling instructions, etc. Mighty developed a registration-based, password-protected area to capture pro shop owner information and provide access to these files.

This section has really helped organize the pro shop specific content. Our pro shop customers have been pleased with ability to access assets for their marketing needs, all in one area. And, it's password-protected so we can control who sees what.

Animations

To enhance the bowling experience, Brunswick produces a variety creative animations for each type of frame – spare, strike, turkey, etc. Mighty developed an easy way for bowling centers to preview and find new animations to use in their scoring displays.
