American Seating

For over 125 years, American Seating has led the way in educational, stadium and entertainment seating. From pioneering the first combined classroom desk and chair in the 1800s to now outfitting over half of the Major League Baseball ballparks, they have always delivered on their promise of innovation. We developed a new website for American Seating in 2008 and have worked with them since to add new, exciting and useful features as well as develop additional digital marketing tools including email newsletters, digital publications and online ads.

Homepage

We designed the homepage to quickly segment users into American Seating’s two primary businesses – Architectural Environments and Transportation – and developed a small sliding interaction to let users get into their specific market quickly.

Product Grid

Mighty designed a category and filter user interface to let users browse products by markets and then filter them by type – table, chair, etc. User feedback has shown this visual product grid to be an easy way to find products and product information.

Product Detail

American Seating needed an easy way to manage their products, images and resources. Mighty developed a content management system that takes care of image cropping and sizing automatically and built a Tools & Resources section that automatically assigns documents to their related product pages.

Spec Builder

American Seating wanted to make it easy for customers to configure and specify their product. We designed “Spec Builder” to do just that. Users can build a seat from the back to the base and generate an accurate specification. We had our good friends at Atomic Object help us develop this custom CodeIgnitor application.
